From the Cousin Family History Binder:
"Hector was born on his father's estate Kernsary in a remote area of northwestern Scotland northeast of the Isle of Skye near the town of Poolewe. Margaret was born on the Isle of Skye in the town of Orbost, which is a MacLeod stronghold. Her birth city is a short distance from Dunvegan Castle, the home of the Chief of the MacLeods. Both Hector and Margaret's fathers were land proprietors.
Hector graduated from the University of Edinborough in 1843 and was ordained as a minister and presented to the parish of Clyne on the 7th of December 1843. He was presented by George and William MacIntosh of Geddes. According to information from the Church of Scotland, parishes were the gift of the heritors, that is the landowner or landowners of the area. These landowners were responsible for providing the community with a church and a minister. After a short time, he was transferred to the parish of Moy and Dalarossie on July 25, 1844, where he was the parish minister for 27 years.
Hector and Margaret were married on June 5, 1845 in Orbost, Skye, Scotland. Hector died at his son's home at 18 Church Street in Inverness on November 9, 1871. Margaret Janet MacKenzie (nee MacLeod) lived until 1897 when she died while living at 30 North Lindray Street in Dundee, Scotland. There is no record of the burial location for Margaret."

Photographs of the church and graveyard at Moy, 12 miles from Inverness, Highlands, Scotland. Photographs taken by my father on a family trip in July 1999. That is my sister taking an exciting video of Hector MacKenzie's gravestone. The gravestone inscription reads, "In Memory of Rev. Hector MacKenzie. Born 21st July 1814. Died 9th Nov. 1871. For 27 years Minister. The United Parish of Moy and Dalarossie."
